Aurora over Ōtepoti Dunedin

March 2023 was a fun time for Aurora hunting in the south of the New Zealand. This display was visible as far north as Hamilton (sadly the next night was even bigger & seen north of Auckland, but Dunedin had rain), and so large that one of my go-to viewing spots on Otago Peninsula (despite the bright city lights) was perfect for this night. Many times this night I had almost packed up, & then at about 1:30am the display re-energised itself & in a rare instance, the yellows, greens, & red/pinks were visible to the naked eye! I thought I'd try an image of the Aurora over the city, hoping that the bright lights of Dunedin didn't wash everything out - when I got home & bought the image into Lightroom for processing, I was blown away! What a night.
