Electrical storms are short, sharp & far and few between here in Ōtepoti Dunedin, so when a good one passes over us of course I couldn't resist getting out there & trying my hand with the camera.
I don't have a fancy Nikon Z9 camera that has a feature that 'pre-release', or lightning detector adaptor effectively taking the guessing game out of photographing lighting, so setting up a Timelapse & hoping is my best option.
Thankfully I managed to snap this beauty that shows the raw power of the storm with the whole cloud illuminated from within, along with the rising moon back lighting the curtain of rain off on the horizon. I'm pretty chuffed with how this image came out.
