Snow direction

Halfway between Dunedin & Middlemarch in the snow.

Those who know this sign know that this is a pretty heavy snow fall so close to Dunedin. It was really cold & I was desperately searching for an image this day, then this just popped in front of me 'shoot this'. I was so happy with the image off the back of the camera I didn't need to hunt any longer & home for a hot drink I was.

She's a great back road route to the mighty Maniototo & Central Otago with way less cars than the popular Roxburgh way. You get to drive through the rocklands above Middlemarch where scenes from The Lord of the Rings were filmed. There's way less traffic than the main routes to Queenstown & Wanaka & the open skies & tussock landscapes are just divine driving.
