Penguin watchers on Takiharuru Pilots Beach at Taiaroa Head, Muaupoko Otago Peninsula, looking SW back to Dunedin.
Kororā, the Little Blue Penguin come up to nest about an hour after sunset, we caught just a couple of them coming up, numbers are low as nesting is finished for the season. These are smallest penguins in the world!
In contrast to the small Blue Penguin, the Royal Albatross are some of the largest sea birds in the world, with a wing span over over 3m (10ft, compared to NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal wingspan of 7ft 7inches).
